Hey DerAutomatiker, I've got another question. How did you go about removing the navigation control unit in the central console to put your cup holder in? I'm designing one to perfectly fit in solidworks but I need to pull the unit out first! Did you have to remove the centre console?

You have to remove the chrome cover of the gear knob. Then you can pull a bit from there and also from the back side under the lid of the arm rest. Remove the plug of the Joystick, Parking Brake and Cruse Control to lift it up enough to remove the Joystick easy.

Would love to see your STL here or on thingiverse to replace my not so perfect fit one!!

Cup holder is modeled, I just need to get some time to print at at work to test it

Do you know what this plugs into? Do I plug it onto any one of the 3 female ports to make it so the car's original port works?

If your car has an original port it should work as you described. Try it out and if it doesn't work I ll take a look at the cars schematics to see where it goes.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, I have other ports if it works. I was pleasently surprised to pair my phone to the Bluetooth just now and have it open android auto wirelessly with no setup. Saves me installing my temperamental emulator app for it.

Here's the STL and Solidworks part for the cup holder. I'm fairly confident it will fit as I took lots of caliper measurements and worked from a reference.
I'm going to print, prime and paint it before I put it in to avoid breaking my center console clips so I'll let you know how it goes in a few days.

Hold off on printing that, I need to export it again higher resolution because the cylinder had visible faces

Here's a video of the fit. It's got a little bit of a gap but not too bad. Still need to prime and paint this but I'm happy enough with the design.

looks nice! You think printing it at 100.5% or so could make the fit tighter or is it too big then?

Too big then. I can adjust the model for you to what I think would fill the gap but then I can't guarantee it will fit
